Alessi MSM01 Broken Bowl, Fruit bowl in 18/10 stainless steel. Designer: Maximilian Schmahl. Material: Stainless Steel.
Fruit bowl in steel colored with epoxy resin, super white. The success of the “CACTUS!” range for the table, designed by Marta Sansoni and the Centro Study Alessi, and in particular our mirror polished stainless steel fruit bowl of 2002, has led us to consider a third color, conceived with the help of Claudia Raimondo: matte black. (Alberto Alessi).
The bowl and the fruit holder “Mediterranean”, designed by Emma Silvestris, can be used together, creating a new article perfect for serving salad or other food, such as pasta or fruit salad.
“Opus” is metal open-work, an elegant centerpiece reminiscent of fabric lace. It was precisely lace and tatting that inspired Guido Venturini in his design of this sophisticated article. “Opus” is a large centerpiece whose shape conveys lightness thanks to its unusual open-work pattern.
The Centerpiece “Joy” has been designed by Claudia Raimondo. The shape and decoration of the steel sheet is created through a sophisticated and contemporary molding technique. The faces of the object create its form: large and open with undefined edges and with a fascinating play of reflections that are reminiscent of objects handmade in precious metals. The texture evokes the backgrounds of the digital world and reinterprets steel by playing on the elusiveness of the design, which makes the object look like something smooth and natural even if it crystallized into a solid matter.
The “Mediterranean” decoration by LPWK – Emma Silvestris is the most recent example of a decoration that has been so successful that it has led to the creation of a family.
“Octave” by Abi Alice is produced simply by cutting, bending & welding specific areas of an 18/10 stainless steel sheet & the result is an elegant container for the table suitable for serving bread or breadsticks. The polished finish enhances the sophisticated simplicity of the object & the project reflects Abi Alice’s interest in mathematics & geometry. With “Octave” the designer explores the creative potential of the ellipse to create harmonic & proportionate forms. In music an ‘octave’ is the interval between one tone & another. These new objects were created using this ratio, which corresponds to a musical octave; the inspiration behind the name of the project.
It is part of the tableware “All-Time” designed by Guido Venturini. The formal concept underlying the “”All-Time”” design is one of flowing shapes – a theme that’s very close to the designer’s heart. The surfaces of the various parts of each object are joined in such a way that the light reflecting off them is always soft and shady.
A new collaboration that enriches the collection of Alessi centerpieces – “Trinity” is the first project designed for the Alessi by Adam Cornish. The work of this young Australian designer tends to create movement, both visual and physical, engaging people’s senses and encouraging them to look more closely. The Trinity Centerpiece is designed on the basis of a simple geometric shape which develops into a vortex to form an elegant concentric structure. The intention of the designer, therefore, is to reproduce the appearance of a natural element through the modern processes of industrial production.
